Biography

Srečko Herceg was born on March 22, 1984 in Zabok, where he attended elementary school and gymnasium. He graduated in 2009 from the Department of Robotics and Automation of Production Systems at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture of the University of Zagreb with the thesis "Sorting system driven by pneumatic muscle actuators".

From 2009 to 2022, he worked at the company STSI-Integrated technical services ltd., a member of INA Group, Zagreb, in the Engineering and Design Department. He was a member of the "Belarus-Naftan Project" team responsible for the creation of detailed design project documentation, equipment supply and authorial supervision for the client "JSC Naftan", Novopolotsk, Republic of Belarus, related to the construction of several refinery plants. He worked as a designer and supervising engineer. In relation to the aforementioned jobs, from 2015 to 2021 he lived and worked in the Republic of Belarus.

In 2014, he enrolled in the doctoral study of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology of the University of Zagreb. He graduated in 2021 with the thesis "Development of soft sensors for advanced control of isomerization process". From 2022, he works at the Department of Measurements and Process Control at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology of the University of Zagreb as a postdoctoral researcher/senior assistant. His research field is the development and application of soft sensors, process modeling and advanced process control. He participates in laboratory exercises from the courses Measurements and process control and Computer application and programming. As a mentor to groups of students, he participates in the Chemical Engineering Exercises course, and is the assistant mentor in the preparation of final and graduate theses. He also participates in the implementation of scientific research projects at Department of Measurements and Process Control. As a manager or associate, he participated in several professional projects in cooperation with industry.
