Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sc. Vanja Kosar was born on January 21, 1972 in Zagreb, Croatia. He graduated from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology at the University of Zagreb on April 17, 1998 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sc. Zoran Gomzi with the thesis Determination of the volumetric oxygen transfer coefficient by a dynamic method. Since November 1998, he has been working as a research assistant at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology at the University of Zagreb in the Department of Reaction Engineering and Catalysis. Immediately after completing his undergraduate studies, he enrolled in postgraduate studies in chemical engineering and is actively involved in scientific research at the Department of Reaction Engineering and Catalysis.
On June 27, 2002, he received his Master's degree in the field of technical sciences, Department of Chemical Engineering, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sc. Zoran Gomzi with the thesis Analysis of curing and heat transfer of unsaturated polyesters in model moulds. On November 21, 2005, he received his doctorate with the topic Optimization of continuous cross-linking of cable insulation in the dry process, also under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sc. Zoran Gomzi. On October 18, 2011, he was appointed as a research assistant and on February 14, 2017, he was appointed to the Scientific Advisory Board. He was appointed Assistant Professor on February 1, 2007 and Associate Professor for Scientific Teaching on March 19, 2012. On April 25, 2022, he was re-elected Associate Professor of Academic Teaching.
